Is anyone else having trouble with Safari? I keep having the dreaded spinning beachball coming up every 15 or so mins. (this essentially freezes it for around 2 mins) It has been happening since July after a system upgrade, but gradually getting worse. I was told there was a problem & fixes were to come, but nothing yet. Another Apple dealer said I had too much on my desktop. Who knows. I have Tiger system I think, not the Leopard one. Any suggestions appreciated as it is driving me nuts. My Applecare ran out in Aug.after 3 yrs, no problems until now.

I do want to get the new Snow Leopard early next year but want to work out if its a problem or a bug.

Never had a problem with it Viv sorry I cant help. Have you tried using a different browser I mostly use firefox. I'm getting snow leopard soon. I don't feel comfortable with change but my son likes to upgrade everything constantly so I don't have a choice lol. I do hope you find a solution to your problem. smile.gif

Yes I was told to use Firefox, but it won't open. I went to upgrade, then read the forum which was complaining about a similar thing so decided not to do. Maybe I will chase up another Apple store. Wish we had the centres like they have in Sydney or overseas, they are stores with a dedicated expert in store.

Not too sure what the problem could be, but are you using the latest version of Safari? Version 4.0.4?

If so, and there's still problems and Firefox doesn't help much have you tried Google Chrome? You can get it here:

http://www.google.com/chrome

or Opera:

Yes I am using 4.04 Luke, but thanks will try those other browsers. Have sent a problem note off to them anyway to see whats wrong.

I love this forum there are always helpers. Didn't know about those other browsers.
