Pleased I don't have a daughter with such ambitions. Even if my sons decided to try this, they'd be grounded bigtime!

Yes best wishes to Jessica and I agree vettie cars are a big enough worry without miles of open sea, and the weather it brings.

I really have a gut feeling that this wasn't the smartest decision ever by her parents to let her go ahead with this after the cargo ship incident

For those of you following Jessica she should be rounding Cape Horn tomorrow! Her parents have gone over to do a flyover and she says both the Chilean and Argentinian Navy have ships in the area and will give her their greetings.

I've become one of her devoted blog followers and a group of us are making plans to be in Sydney for her return

Jesse rounded the Cape overnight!

She has several hundred (one day over 600) comments a day on her blogs. Those of us planning to head to Sydney to watch her come in have set up a separate blog so we can better co-ordinate it all
