I hope you've got some decent candidates that you can vote for. We've got some clowns running this state, haven't we? (Wollongong of course being one of those areas where the council was sacked for sheer incompetence and some delicious scandals. )

Ki, you are legend, woman!!!!!!! If you didn't post this thread, I would've forgotten... LOL I think I'm gonna go vote the greens... I have more in common with them now more than ever, it finds.

In this area we have some good interesting independants - and some idiots LOl , the greens candicate lives justa few houses away shes pretty coolness too. manly council has always done pretty well all things considering i reckon. Weve had Dr Peter macdonald in power for the last term ( again) i like him but people are freaking out cos he made manly a no alcohol on the streets etc zone after many serious crimes commited - Manly is safer nicer and has better vibe but those who wants to go back to the stabbings on staurday night want drinking back and want to vote him out. we are a big tourist area and while im all for them having fun drinking all night until daylight on beach smashing bottles etc isnt sumthing i can approve of. sorry. we have a fair few, what can i call them,..um 'deros' and while they have the right to live in the park and take drugs etc on another hand theres lots of kids etc and im not that into stepping over them when i get off the bus. i guess its hard to know peoples rights to live as they want versus others peoples rights for cleaness and safety.

Our polling booth is in the main hall at the French School of Sydney (ex Maroubra High). I spent a lot of time in that hall when I was in primary school hahaha.

I do postal voting as well (for State and Federal voting)

So is it a State or Federal by-election or Council? Council aren't compulsory here and if you do vote postal is the only way to do it, they send everyone the papers and you send them back if you want

anyone know what time polling places are open till today?
