"They owe him an education as standard. Every child should be able to walk out of school & be able to have the opportunity to go for an apprenticeship, to go for a job interview & be able to go for a job," says the boy's father, Peter Abela.
Beau Abela's unable to read & write & is due to go into Year 9 at Eltham High in January.
However, the 14 year old who has been diagnosed with ADHD & a learning disability, has been assessed to be 5 years behind his learning disability.
'Every year, he fails 100% & they're just putting him up', says Mr Abela of his son's results at school.
The Victorian Government has conceded the state's education system isn't perfect, with Victorian Education Minister, Peter Batchelor, coming out to defend its classrooms.
'We do recognise that this is an ongoing task. There's more to be done & in last years budget, we provided for an additional 45 specialist teachers to undertake numeracy & literacy specialist teaching in our classroom settings', says Mr Batchelor.

I'm horrified about this.... how could they let him graduate from primary school if he can't read and write? I remember on TV the other day, Beau said that he can count from 1 to 10, but not really beyond that... WHA????
