I'm paying my daughter not to work at the moment til after the HSC wink.gif She's had a part time job at michels patisserie for the past 3 years & loves it..
loves having the spending money too.
It's taught her a load of stuff that I could never have...responsibility,confidence,teamwork,value of money...even scrubbing floors ph34r.gif
Amillion2one
Like i said to you before Liz...proud of you lil hunnie smile.gif

Macca's is a really good place to get a decent tan on ur arms if they stick you on fry station...loved it when they shoved me on that when i was workin there...hated front counter tho...I worked at the one on Queen St in Campbelltown and you'd litterally get grumpy old men throwing their change at you...that was awhile ago now tho.

Commercial Spotlights Power of First Jobs at McDonald's

CHICAGO, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ --McDonald's today unveiled a new TV commercial that showcases successful individuals whose first jobs were at McDonald's. The "My First" spot features people from around the world who started their careers at McDonald's. Among the featured talent at the press conference for the commercial debut were 10-time Olympic track and field medalist Carl Lewis, Canadian fashion photographer Carla LaBrosse, United Kingdom fireman Carl Smeaton, and McDonald's franchisee Leo Lopez from Florida. In addition, A&M recording artist and actress Macy Gray offered her reflections on working her first job at McDonald's in a videotaped message.
The commercial includes crew members from around the world who started at McDonald's, with representation from Australia, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, the Netherlands, United Kingdom and the U.S.

The new ad is the latest example of McDonald's ongoing commitment to its people and communicates the many ways McDonald's provides opportunity under the Golden Arches. Opportunity at McDonald's was a key focus of the company's 50th anniversary celebration this past April and is one of McDonald's CEO Jim Skinner's top priorities.

"I worked as a McDonald's crew person and there is so much more to working at McDonald's than people know," said former McDonald's crew member and singer/actress Macy Gray. "The action, the fun, the people, the sense of accomplishment -- it truly was My First big break!"

Rich Floersch, McDonald's executive vice president for Human Resources, and Larry Light, McDonald's executive vice president and global chief marketing officer, premiered the commercial during McDonald's Global Human Resources Conference held in Chicago this week and attended by 200 McDonald's HR professionals from 48 countries.
"The people featured in the My First ad are just a few examples of the millions of opportunities created by our great brand," said Floersch. "McDonald's offers world-class training, great benefits and skills that will last a lifetime, whether you grow within or outside of our system."

"Working at McDonald's really helped lay the foundation for my career," added ten-time Olympic track and field medalist and former McDonald's crew member, Carl Lewis. "It was the place where I learned the true meaning of excelling in a fast-paced environment and what it means to operate as part of a team."

Others included in the commercial are: Ivan Renema (Amsterdam, professional dancer); Amaru Lamas (The Netherlands, courtroom clerk); Monique Christakis (Canada, radiologist); Sarah Coup (Canada, police officer); Derek Parra (USA, professional speed skater); Andreas Baesler (Germany, opera director); Suguru Otake (Japan, professional artist); Alison Bray (Australia, airline pilot); Tereza Hlavacov (Prague, current McDonald's crew member); and Darris Bolden (Amsterdam, deejay).
"McDonald's has revitalized the brand with two key strategies -- leadership marketing and operational excellence," said Light. "My First brings both strategies to life, because this campaign is intended to inspire our employees, attract new ones and show our customers that if you begin your career at McDonald's, the sky is the limit."

Excellent career opportunities at McDonald's
McDonald's Chief Executive Officer Jim Skinner started his career at McDonald's as a crew member. Of McDonald's top 50 members of its worldwide management team, 20 started as crew, working in their local restaurants. In addition, 70 percent of all restaurant managers and 40 percent of all owner/operators started as crew. McDonald's has a history of providing training and growth opportunities for its employees at all levels.

McDonald's is the leading global foodservice retailer with more than 30,000 local restaurants serving nearly 50 million people in more than 100 countries each day. Approximately 70 percent of McDonald's restaurants worldwide are owned and operated by independent, local businessmen and women.

oh brenda thats KOOL smile.gif

my daughter has a job" partime" she plays the Violin at weddings with a trio cello and another violin smile.gif being the barossa there is plenty of work on weekends . She gets $50 and hour and at 16 thats a mighty good wage. She usually only works for a couple of hours on saturday or sunday evening with study and practise its hard to fit work in for longer than that and I wouldn;t want her working on a school night .

We don;t have macdonalds here or any of those fast food outlets only subway which is run as part of the service station and red roster which I think will shut its doors soon cause the barossa just doesn;t support it . It just went in this year and is brand new . The barossa is such a lovely cafe area , the teenagers here can allways get partime work in coffee shops and cafe's etc which we are lucky to have .

CONGRATS ON YOUR JOB LIZ HOPE YOU HAVE LOTS OF FUN
